Duece22
I was thinking about ordering 2 15" 08 L7s. But, i wanted to run them on a Hifonics Bxi2607d. Which is rated at 2600 watts rms. Would i blow those subs using that amp?? 2008 Hummer H3 x2 Sundown Audio Nightshade V2 12s x1 Sundown Audio 3000D

hotshot27
there are fifty million "would it be louder" threads on this board. Too many variables and it honestly depends on how skilled you are. In the right [or wrong] hands, either setup will bang like hell or sound like shyt. But first thing is that amp is not the best considering you are wanting to use decent/very good subs. I would think if you want to get the best sound, go with a refurbed sundown 1500, it would do well for either of those setups. unless you are on serious budget constraints Current Setup: Factory HU with LOC mids/highs-Insignia components Sub- E8 in bass tube Amp- sae-1200d Show Setup: HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony) fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps rears- Infinity Kappa coax mid/high amp - Autotek 5600 Subs - 2 RE SE 15's Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D Box - 5cubes sealed Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0 SECOND SKIN
Duece22
Well, considering i have to buy all new subs right now because Fi wont repair my 18. Im going to have to stick with my Hifonics amp for now. But, if i had someone who knew what they were doing my amp wouldnt blow the kicker subs right? 2008 Hummer H3 x2 Sundown Audio Nightshade V2 12s x1 Sundown Audio 3000D
hotshot27
if a person knows what they are doing, they can make a saz3000 power a jensen 10". There is no written law saying you must turn the gain up on an amp. setting the gain is very important. Even with full power though [and that amp is maybe 2400-2500 watts] in a proper box it should be ok, just know what to watch as far as subs getting warm and over excursion. Duece22
Alright sounds good to me man. If it was your choice, would u do a setup with 2 L7 08 15 Kickers or the 15" fully loaded BTL?? 2008 Hummer H3 x2 Sundown Audio Nightshade V2 12s x1 Sundown Audio 3000D
1qwikstang
Alright sounds good to me man. If it was your choice, would u do a setup with 2 L7 08 15 Kickers or the 15" fully loaded BTL?? The kickers will be your best bet. You have twice the cone area vs the BTL.
hotshot27
I would go with the Kickers cause of cone area also. Fi is a good brand, but kicker has never let me down. I think it will be easier to bring out the potential in the kickers than the BTL. PaulO2288
If it was 2 15" BTL's then that would be the way, but stick with the 2 15" L7's and more cone area.
