littleitaly1990 Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 If you never saw The Usual Suspects, do not read forward. And GO WATCH IT! In the Usual Suspects, one of my favorites, there is a scene after verbal describes keyser soze where the cops leave the office and discuss the fact that edie (sp) was meeting with a lawyer. The main cop asks "Kombayashi?" and the other two cops nod agreeingly, including the one who knew which lawyer she met with. However how could she have met with a lawyer named kombayashi if we find out that verbal got the name kombayashi from the bottom of the cops coffee glass at the end? Sorry I had trouble explaining it but I have a feeling it is a flaw. Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath.

Shinju Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 no one saw the usual suspects and remembers the scene? It's so good. I saw that movie the day it came out in 95. Kevin Spacey was phenominal in that flick, The whole movie flowed very well. I do remember the scene and I think there was a scene that was cut out that tied into that cop scene you are discribing, so yeah it really wouldn't make much sense. Great movie still one of my all time favorites. Brilliant piece done by Bryan Singer you need to watch it again there is so much more that I am sure you missed Quote

Team Bassick - Kimo Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I know the scene in which you speak. I'm just curious if the others officers said Kobayashi or if they just referred to a lawyer in reference to hearing Virgil mentioning a lawyer name Kobayashi. It was brilliant, but I have seen everything the movie has to offer (and it's still worth watching). The only mistakes I care about are plot holes and such. I don't care too much if someone forgot to reset a clock. Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath.

The never heard the name kobayashi before because the only one who heard it would have been agent kujan and the other agent sitting outside the office. These two cops did not know that name and when kujan suggested the lawyer was kobayashi, the would have asked "who" instead of agreeing. Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath.
