ChiTownTBird312 Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 a friend of mine wants to add subs to his car and i need a good box design to fit in the trunk behind the back seat....there isnt much room back there, and i dont know the exact dimensions....i was hoping somebody may have already done a box for a wrangler before but i can possible go over to his house and measure it if you need. he wants 2 12's...but will settle for 2 10's or if somebody has something for sale that might fit in the back of a wrangler that would work too...he isnt picky on sound quality or spl or any of that...he just wants some bass. raytard Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 ive put a few boxes in wranglers, the rockford p3 shallows are cool, but the pioneer 12in shallows kicked ass, strapped one of those 800 watt amps to it and a basically sealed spec box behind the back seat (had the flip foward seats, amp went under it), sounded and fit great, room to spare. may be something to look into, i was pretty impressed with what came out of those tiny ass subs in a tiny ass box Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
tacomabanga1986 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 u could do a wedge down fire box with 2 12'' pioneer shallows off a good 1000w amp, my buddy did an install with 2 12'' pioneer shallows in ther own down fire sealed box powered by a mtx 1501d and it sounded like he had a set of 15's in it, i would try that if space is an issue just make sure there enough room under the box for teh subs to breathe, i say 2'' should be fine from floor to speaker here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit

duct_tape123 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 I'm not sure about the newer Wranglers but the '97 you can't downfire a 12" sub, not enough room. Click! Thats 2 P2 10" of a kicker 400.1. He listens to mainly rock and that thing kicks hard! If you want I can get dimensions from him. Its been a while since I built that box so I forgot the dimensions.
