Toxiccasper Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Ok so first off I hate onlinecarstereo bunch of tards. So I make an order to get 1 12inch type R dual 4ohm and one Alpine MRP-M500, I was going to wire the type r at 2 ohms so it would be getting 500 watts from the alpine amp. But then they call me saying that, that amp wont work with that sub for some reason? Because I guess they are dumb and then they tell me they only have the dual 2ohm type R in stock so they switch me to the dual 2 ohm and changed my amp to a Hifonics BXI608. So now I have to run everything at 1ohm but I was just wondering will this amp and sub beable to take 1ohm load? Supposedly the amp puts out 600 watts at 1ohm and is 1ohm stable but Im not familiar with this amp. So basically Im asking do you guys think it will working out fine or will the amp be driven to hard at 1 ohm? *EDIT* What is the difference between the BXI606 and BXI608? and which would be a better amp for the sub thanks
Decaf Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 well personally i have not had good experience with the 06 line, (year it was made) the 08s might be better but i ran it at .9, 1.7 w/rise and she crapped on me (bxi1606) many have used them and they work fine and they only put that out at 14.4v so better have a good electrical the difference as stated is the last two numbers indicate which years model
