Custom Recone

Recommended Posts

I know many companies sell recones for the subs they manufacture, but do any companies make any custom recones for subs other than the ones they build? I have 4 blown MA Audio HK15X2's and would like to see if I can get them reconed. I know they are not the best subs by any stretch of the imagination, but i would like to do something with them other than have them sitting in my storage unit doing nothing.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

I dont know of anyone who would have parts that matched my subs. the basket is TC sounds, and the motor is MA. I know Eclipse Titaniums, and TC counds LMS drivers use the same basket, but they have 4" coils, and the MA is only 3. Im just seeing if I could ship one off to a company and they could recone it and possibly send me the kits to recone my other 3, or even recone all 4 of them. I know it is a long shot, but I have to try. Otherwise I have 4 55 pound paper weights.

Bump X2

I have a similar situation for some of my spare Vegas. I have googled some stuff, but haven't found anything that I like so far. Maybe a generic cone and motor? I suppose you would have to know gap size, depth and diameter of the coil, cone size.... so on. It seems like so much to go wrong unless you find a company that specializes in this.

I'm gonna' keep looking too bro. If I find anything I will post it up.

I think you would have better luck finding an independent party to do some custom work on another companies subs. A brand name company is gonna be tougher to get to do the custom work to get it to work.
