basketball_00011 Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Hey guys i have a 93 regular cab s10. I'm in trouble of choosing subs. I can only get about 2 cubes out of a box with out losing leg room. I was thinkin about choosing (3) 8" kicker cvt's or (2) 10" kicker cvt's. They are shallow mount subs. First question is does anyone have CVT's and do they sound good? Im just gonna make a sealed box because I only need the truck to last until next April. Also which sub do you guys think I will get a louder, lower hitting system with? Brandon - Bassless since March 2010.
kylecm85 Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 i have seen the kicker cvts but have not heard them. It just depends on your prefrence i would do 10's they usually go pretty low if ur box is tuned right but i hve heard some 8's that go low to if u want to be diffrent do the 8's 94 lincoln mark viii h/u: kenwood kvt 614 Excelon comps: alpine type x amps: mtx 1501d mtx 4004 sub:2 DC lv4 12 wiring jl audio 0awg 8 awg sub jl audio 4 awg for mid and highs amp myspace.com/kylecm85 carstereolexington.com
basketball_00011 Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 ok i decided on (2) 10's. I was gonna get 2ohm and wire them up to get an even 2ohm. The website says they can take 400 rms on 4ohm. I was gonna get the Kenwood KAC-9103D. 500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (900 watts x 1 at 2 ohms). That amp will work right? If i wire it up to 2ohm do i use the multimeter to make sure i have around 800 watts goin thru the subs? or is that too much power wired up to them. Plz help cuz this IS my first system. not hte one i wanted but the one space allows. Brandon - Bassless since March 2010.
