caddylac Posted August 17, 2008 Report Share Posted August 17, 2008 i have a rockford t800.4 powering 2 pairs boston acoustic pro's 6 1/2 and tweeters. im not sure on what to set some of my settings at. i am gettin ready to install subs and another amps for bass next week. 1. what shoiuld i set the crossover setting on ap or hp? 2. slope on 12b or 24b? 3. hertz freq. 40 - 400 were should that be. Boon Posted August 17, 2008 Report Share Posted August 17, 2008 1. Set the crossover to HP = High pass. Stops bass frequencies going to your mids. 2. Slope, play around with it. This defines how fast the volume is decreased as the frequency goes past the crossover frequency. 12dB will help the mids 'blend' better with your subs but if you have lots of power or choose to set the crossover frequency quite low a 24dB slope will do a better job of preventing your mids from distorting due to being over-driven trying to play bass. 3. Again, have a play around with it. You probably want to start around 120hz with a 24dB slope, but that depends what your subs low-pass frequency is set to... 10.x volts fo' life!
