Box For My Friends Spl Dynamics 15" Sub

Hi there my friend has asked me to build a ported box for his 15" spl dynamic sub.

i am extremely new to designing boxes(all the calculations and that), i have never done the calculations for a box before, and i have only built a box for myself which i was given dimensions to

i have been told about this site before

here are some details about the sub; (from that site)

Fs: 31 Hz

Vas: 73 L

Qts: 0.41

Qes: 0.46Fs: 31 Hz

i don't really know what they are all about?

could someone kinda help me design a box for this 15" sub that will be tuned around 33Hz, slot port:)

i will have a word with him later and get the max dimensions the boot can have, but there is a fair amount of space and there is no parcel shelf so it should be able to be almost any size:)

btw the car is a 3 door vauxhall corsa.

Try building it to their specs (spl one). It is on the bottom of the specs page.

Bass-Reflex box SPL: 75 L + 2x4" port / length 25cm, Tuning frequency 45Hz

Sorry I don't know how to convert from metric, but you calling it a boot that's what you probably need anyway!

if someone could like look at the specs of the sub and like tell me what they mean( like the displacement of the sub etc)

do 3cuft @ 33hz... sub displaces prolly .18cuft ... maybe a bit less....

need max dimensions tho

off the top of my head u could do

port back sub back hiopefully can be used.. or sub up port back

3" wide slot port 14.5" tall = 43.5sqin port

30" port length

actual wood pieces:

14.5" and 9.5"

i had a go on here and done all the calculations with a few of your dimensions and what not( width,height,sub displacement jus stuff like that) and i came out with these measurmnts...

w=29

h=16

d=14.4

port wall 1=11.5

port wall 2=14.5

tuned to 33hz

i will most definately use your dimensions, but i was just wondereing if those dimensions i came up with doing all 11 stages are pretty good/accurate or if i have done something wrong or something?
