MTX J30 Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 im buying these two subs and this box from this guy. but what does dual 4 ohms mean? would i be able to get a good amp that could power these for around 200 dollars? are these good subs? also what are grills the third thing he says hes selling? Once or twice I have missed having a back seat / rear hatch, but all in all people love to see a walled vehcile. It just screams "i'm not fucking around with my setup, im loud"
Sampsonite Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 lol, what are you buying? Dual 4 means 2 voice coils at 4 ohms each giving you the option to wire it at 2 ohms or 8 each. --Sampson 816-591-6592 www.kcrimshop.com

Guest Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 if you were to wire each sub separately, you can get a 2 ohm load or an 8 ohm load. but if you were to wire them together, you can get a 1 ohm load or a 4 ohm load edit: get an amp that is rated at 1 ohm and close to the RMS rating of both subs combined (ex: 400rms for one sub + 400rms for the other sub = get an 800rms amp)

Sampsonite Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 Ya, they are good subs. And you can wire them down to 1 ohm, so look for a 1 ohm stable amp. The good thing about these subs is that they are really responsive meaning you don't need alot of power to run them. I would be on the look out for a class D mono block amp that is 1 ohm stable somewhere around 500-800 RMS just to be on the safe side --Sampson 816-591-6592 www.kcrimshop.com
Guest Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 grills are just plastic covers that go over the sub for "looks", but i think they look like crap imo.
