Personally I don't think the sony package is a bad deal.... I would get it if thats what u are looking for.

I wouldn't waste my money on the MTX.... its not worth the extra $100 IMO.

Subs: 4 Fi BL 18's

Enclosure:21.5 Cubic foot flat wall tuned to 40 hz

Batteries: 3 Kinetik 2400's in the back, Kinetik 1200 under hood.

considering that this would be your first sub/setup, either one would work, everyone has to start somewhere. Once you get your hands dirty then look into better things down the road
