kentb Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Example: lets say we hhave a fi btl and fi ssd on the same enclosure, same car but different wattage. Fi SSD on 1k watts moves almost as much as a Fi BTL on 3k watts. but obviously the btl is louder. the cone movement is really close though. so why is the btl louder? is it because the btl hits harder? i mean the movement is much much faster per cycle? it might be a stupid question but idk. i just though of it. Decaf Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 a ssd has a weaker motor and it takes less power to untilize the motors magnetizm the btl has a much stronger motor so u need more power to counter it it has to do with how fast the cone is accelerated and the force it takes to move in and out of the magnetic field, thus if the field is really strong it takes alot of force and power to push/pull thru it does that help
