I'm 18 turning 19, I have one U-turn ticket since I started driving (16 on my own insurance). Anyways my company had no problem insuring my stereo (I had around $4500 insured) it only cost me like $65/year. I had to supply all the receipts tho... As for pdlp (just liability) they ran me almost $1700/year. They tell me if I were to want full coverage (collision, theft, etc), it would double, or more!
