Beckett Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 right, just bought this amp, tried to install it, got bat ground remote all soldered and connected, got RCA's in, soldered speaker wires up for the wierd quick relese connections. amp came on, tried to set gains. would not go over 10.00 volts!? need 20 volts for 100 rms. just completely not sure how to use this amp. what 'imput channelselector switch should i use? it has either '1+3/2+4' 3/4 or 1/2 i have no ideo what this is ll about, the description in the manual dont really help me. oh and now when i finished with wirin it up n trying to set gains i noticed my other amp didn turn on!? urggggggggg i am getting so pist ff with car audio! tomoro i am gunna rip everything out n re wire it! someoen help on how to set the amp up n how the fukk do i find 20 volts? findin the voltage on my old amp was simple, now on this new amp it is jus fukked up! any help appreciated cheers] JS Fraser *Alpine Typr-R 12" *JBL GTO 1200.1 Sub Amp *Alpine PDX-4.100 *Rockford Fosgate Power 6.5's *Rockford Fosgate Fanatics 6.5's Both in front doors *0/1 Guage wiring from front Junction Boxes to 120AH Battery In Boot (battery removed because too small for alternator) *140 Amp HO Alternator *Alpine Head Unit -------------------------------------------------------------------------x------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beckett Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 right today the amp is orking fine:), i think the problem was the other amp wasn't comin on so there wasn't as much signal goin to the amp. i set the gains today aswell, but the channel 1+2 are okish, chanel 1 gains was just under 20 volts for my 100 rms and channel 2 on the same gains was on 18 ish volts, this was about 3 quaters the way up. and on the other gains for channel 3 and 4 the gains were set all the way to 'max' on the amp(it actually says 'max') and there was only 16 ish volts. but the amp is 4 x 121 rms accordin to the birthsheet test thing. lol wierd, sounds pretty good tho, deffo worth it JS Fraser *Alpine Typr-R 12" *JBL GTO 1200.1 Sub Amp *Alpine PDX-4.100 *Rockford Fosgate Power 6.5's *Rockford Fosgate Fanatics 6.5's Both in front doors *0/1 Guage wiring from front Junction Boxes to 120AH Battery In Boot (battery removed because too small for alternator) *140 Amp HO Alternator *Alpine Head Unit -------------------------------------------------------------------------x------------------------------------------------------------------------------
