ryde2idie Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 heres a thing i learned when i was wiring my subs up to my computer, if u wanna bypass all the access wiring to the battery and what not you can tap into the computers circuitry, if u remove one of the sides off your computer you get an eye full of endless mesh of wire but all the mesh of wire is coming from the back of the computer from this box, i call it the transformer box i dont know the technical term but anyway, there should be a sticker that says what that box is transformin that 120v into. its usually like 12v at 15 amps, 5.5 at 3 amps , and 4 at 3 amps or sumthing like that. you just have to tap into one of those wires and figure out which ones are producing the 12vs then u just ground your negative somewhere onto the computer. the only problem with this is the computer has an internal circuit breaker so it will shut off for a min if you crank it up to loud but i usually use it for testing equipment or fixing amplifiers but you always have to turn off the computer then hook up the amp then turn it back on because if u do it while its on it will shut off and take a few mins to boot back up. lol this might be useless for you but i like it because you power the amp from the computer and also get the audio signal from it too so it kinda keeps the mess of wires to a minimum.
