Chris from Mi Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 well, this has been nagging me forever, i hooked up some crappy 2 channel legacy to run my fronts so i could bridge front and rear channels of my jbl 75.4 to my sub. When i hooked up the power, remote, ground to the legacy, (jbl still plugged in, everything off) all of a sudden my sub started to pulse even thought the only connection was the remote wire and rear rca's. Since that didnt work, i hooked everything back up to jbl and now i have a horrible alt whine coming from the front and sub rca's (were hooked up to jbl whole time) when i touched ground of rca's on hu to chassis ground, the whine went away, but i have heard this may cause my hu to fail in the long run. Chris from Mi Posted November 22, 2008 Author Report Posted November 22, 2008 humm, no love...well can someone answer this, will grounding the rca's to the deck chassis cause any damage to the deck (i've been told it can) and if it will, could i ground the rca's to the ground of the high output? tacomabanga1986 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 grounding to headunit rcas will not harm it at all because they have a low ground signal in them already anyways, i got a link on how to do said groundin rcas in my sig and has pictures to, it helps my 680 alot and it takes it away, but my 860 doesnt have whine noise but it has 6.5v preouts tho lol, ied ground the rcas and ued be good to go man it really works, i wonder why pioneer headunits do this after a while of playing, and when u ground em all u need to ground is one channel on each rca output and ur good to go, anyways good luck man here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit

tacomabanga1986 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 ya it wont hurt ur headunit man most shops tell u this so u will buy another headunit, ied ground em and that will fix it thats how i got my pioneer in my geo now and works like a charm, you can run the wire from the rcas to the ground wire of the headunit or do like i did and put a small ring terminal on the wire and atatch it to the instalation kit and it will ground threw the headunits chassis, and it doesnt really matter what size wire u use just somethin around 18guage will work but wouldn't go above 14guage cause its really not worth it imo, anyways good luck man wished someone told me this along time ago, took me about a month driveing back n forth to my friends shop askin questions till this idea poped up, this works alot better than those "noise blockers" witch doesnt do nothin i dont think, i got around 5 of em now i dont use layin around cause someone told me they worked but there a piece of shit i think, but i think urs has 2 rca outputs a hp or front and a sub output, ied ground one side of each of those or both if u want to doesnt matter witch one or how many just one of each and ur good to go here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
