This box won't hit the lows as well because it's tuned at 40hz and based on the size of the ports your old box was probably tuned at like 30-some.

You could try putting a shim in the port to tune lower. How deep is the port anyway?

The prefab box was tuned to 42hz and dropped off at 30. I forget how deep the port is. Also, what would make 2 of the subs get hotter than the others? I can touch the caps and feel the warmth, the other 2 are cold. The 2 on the left are a couple weeks older than the ones on the right. I called kicker today and the guy said maybe they are getting signal from the amp first before the other 2? Is this even possible?

You may have messed up your wiring so one side is parallel and the other side is series. That would cause a massive imbalance in the power the subs were getting. Do they move differently?
