Goodness!

So, how 'bout those McIntosh speakers, bumonskateboard6? I like mine- sound great, no issues, very clean, not harsh at all as far as tweeters go. I am very pleased because they don't sound like the super bright cracking tweeters most people run with and are used to- the McIntosh tweets sound realistic.

Anyone else have McIntosh speakers they would like to share their experience with?

I think you are confused with the warm distortion that tube amps give out, I don’t think mcintosh makes any tube amps for car stereo..

Mac amps do start to produce coloration especially on the user end if they listen at high volumes and experience a voltage dip and/or clipping. Instead of a noisy distortion, their amps alter the sound and start messing with the processing, they do this so the consumer never complains about it sounding like shit, cause it wont sound bad, but it wont sound right either. Now I am sure if you set up the amp properly maybe it wont do it, however There is no sonic difference in amp A from amp B. Can you really can hear .0295% distortion difference, you got some mighty gold ears?

I wanna do them still to everyone that thinks I've just abandoned the project, during the holidays though I had some unexpected expenses so that's where the money went for them. Hopefully I'll be able to get the money and get the new speakers and amp sometime soon...
