Do i need a new battery or alternator? 2003 Pontiac Vibe Dark Red 18" Motegi MR-7's 2 Alpine Type-R 6.5" Coaxial Speakers on the front doors Alpine CDA Head Unit w/IPod Cable Alpine V-Power mono mr650 12" Alpine Type-R(2 Ohm) Subwoofer Dynamat in the trunk with the liscense plate and, 2 Stock tweaters in the front, with the stock speakers in the back seats Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Do i need a new battery or alternator? After your car is off, and engine cooled down, check the voltage of your battery. If it's low, that might mean your alternator is not sufficient. Have it load tested at Autozone or other facility to check it. If the alternator checks out and you don't have a super high power system, then a high output battery (or extra battery) should fix the problem. I didn't read close enough...
