pstone11 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 With 20" deep, you could expand the port to 7" wide which will give you ~270" of port 28" long, and you will have 4.8 cubes per sub.. (before bracing) Still tuned to 29hz. Quote Check out StoneSounds to see my recent builds.Or look at the Flying White Facebook Page!
bassbaker15 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 ok so what if the port was the whole 40inches tall... how far in the box would it go, and how wide? pstone11 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 40" was your outside dimension for height, so the port can only be 38.5" tall... Quote Check out StoneSounds to see my recent builds.Or look at the Flying White Facebook Page!
bassbaker15 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 oh ya, im going to be using 1inch mdf, so the port at 38" tall would be how wide and need to go into the box how far? lol sorry.... dont mean to be complicated Quote Team Deadly Hertz 1997 GMC 1500 Update.... pstone11 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) 7" wide, 38" tall, and 30" of effective port length. I don;t have time to draw up an L port for you, but look up "effective port length" and figure it out. With bracing, that still should keep you around 29hz still. edit.... 6.5" wide should be better - keeps the tuning down a bit more....
