Ok, I have had 2 15's in a 7 cube box in the trunk. I am looking to redo it to make it cleaner and alot louder. I am thinking 3 15s in the trunk(2 firing rear one up). And i plan on having 2 12's inside the cabin splitting my rear seat(one firing angled up the other almost verticle twards the front).

My questions are would the two 12s even add to the db substatially? Or would they just be a waste?

Im looking to spend about 6-700 so any ideas i will look at.

Different size subs firing in random directions will not help dB. To a certain point you'd be moving more air and it may be louder, but as far as SPL goes it won't do much. It's even possible it would hurt it. With 6-700 you could do something way better.

Are you looking to get louder or are you looking for more SPL? There's a difference.

In my experience, pointing 15's back is not to good in a trunk car. It is best to point them up with port forward or point the subs forward and the port to the side. I believe the reason large subs don't work in a trunk car is because you don't get a lot of air flow around the box into the cab of the car.

I had a big gain when I flipped my box from pointing back to pointing it forward.

Yea i can play with that aspect tho thats not hard to do trial and error on. Do you think the one up two rear(or forward) is my best option? or should i try and direct everything in the same general area.

I am not sure how three will work. If you have the room try to get all three on one side. That will be the best even if they are not in a straight line.
