(4) Memphis Mojo 15's On 5kw

Recommended Posts

Well, its just a bad smell, they aren't real hot. I have 2 150 amp alternators, stock battery, and 2 odyssey 2150s for electrical. I have a very shitty ground tho.. hummer isnt easy to find good grounds for inside the truck.

As far as your ground, just run negative wires from the battery in front. Running a 4kw would still only be 1k+ to each and it would eat up that electrical system. (When I say 4kw, I mean the MCD4KW).

Why not do four MCD2500s, get some better batteries and maybe upgrade your alts to 300 or so. That would be absolutely awesome! The subs would take it like a French whore on Mardi Gras

EDIT: I'm just mentioning Memphis products because I'm guessing you like them.

I actually just got rid of my MCD4KW. I hated that damn amp, the current draw was HUGE. I am now using an Atomic 5000.1.. I don't really have any room to run another wire from the front that's my problem. Is it bad to do two grounds to the same spot? or is it bad to do 2 grounds in general? There are other bolts in the back I can ground to if I were to do multiple but I don't know if that makes it better/worse.

You can do as many grounds as you want, but I would split up where they were at if you're using stock bolts in the back. You gotta make sure you're bolting to the chassis and not sheet metal also. (I'm not sure of your experience, I'm not trying to sound condecending).

Try running your wires under the car and into the back through a drain plug or somewhere else. That saves any trouble going through the firewall. And after you ground your batteries, just ground the amp to the - on the battery.

I'm running a 4KW right now on a 300A alt and 5 Kinetik batteries and it does fine (now that I fixed my problem for those of you keeping tabs).

What's your budget on adding more power?

Heres the thing, the bolt is attached to the chassis but runs through the sheet metal. Every bolt in the car is like that.. I was considering running the wires under the car but I'm not sure yet if I want to do that. Right now, im running 5000 watts on 1 run of 1/0 to the back and 1 ground lol..

I don't really need more power at the moment but if I ever decide I want to go all out, I would just buy another atomic 5000.1.. great amp doesn't hardly heat up at all.

Only problem with that is you'd be getting the same wattage total because your ohm loads wouldn't match up. You'd be running each pair at 2-ohms.

EDIT: Sorry for pulling this way off topic. I thought you asked for more power. My bad.

how would the ohm load change if im just running multiple grounds from my batteries?
