Clocksta Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 yeah, wouldnt doing a couple batts be cheaper than the new alt, not to mention i dont plan on keeping the car for ~too~ long so i can just move the batts to my next car rather than buy yet another HO alt, would adding an extra batt or 2 help as good as changing my alt, cause i mean, my alt is i believe only 105amps or so Quote
Mosin Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) Someone correct me if I'm wrong but just adding more batts won't keep them fully charged on a stock alt. I mean maybe add 1-2 Kinetik HC800 or 1 slightly larger one. My buddy has a '90 Accord with a Kicker 1000.1 and doesn't get light dimming whatsoever. He just has a new Everstart Maxx batt. But he stiffened his electrical doing the big three. (I don't guarantee you'll see the same results) Adding 2 HC800 would probably be alot cheaper than one H.O. alt. Like you said get the batts and when you get your new ride just get a H.O. alt for that. Edited January 6, 2009 by solo_x18 Quote Derp.
Clocksta Posted January 7, 2009 Author Report Posted January 7, 2009 so i mean, is there like a maximum wattage i should try not to go over, dont want to buy nice and then have to downgrade and get sad/lose money in the process. think 1k would be doable? Quote
Mosin Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Yeah If it was me, I'd play it safe and stay with 1000-1400RMS. But being me I'd recommend a Kicker 1000.1 or a Kicker 1250.1 Quote Derp.
