That's exactly what I am looking for is something that expands more, which is why I want this HST and/or the Hornady stuff. After reading and hearing that the Hydra-Shok doesn't expand like this newer stuff,I want something "better" to say the least. @ Born_Again: I would prefer what local LE uses but I don't wanna get 21 questions for asking them what brand ammo they carry is. lol

What are the main diffs between the HST and the Hydra-Shok rounds? Your guys' opinions on the two types are well appreciated. Lately I've been hearing that the Hyrda-Shoks penetrate to much, which got me a little worried. I will look into the Hornady brands, the Corbon ammo seems a bit to pricey. lol

Like title states, can a civilian such as myself purchase "LE" ammo? Specifically Federal Premium Tactical HST 165grn 40S&W (P40HST3) If so, what legitimate online site can I purchase from? I currently use Federal's 165gn Hydra-Shok round and kinda wanted a personal comparison. If it matters, my gun is a Glock 22 Gen 4. Thanks!

I did per instructions to ensure it was unloaded. Bad idea? Well if you were firing it to see if it was unloaded then yeah bad idea lol.. but to remove the slide pull the slide back, check that its unloaded push the slide release down and hold it down, now let the slide foward then pull the trigger all while holding the release down.. the slide should pop off.. I got it back together now but I just tried the method you said above and that worked also. Thanks alot to both of you guys that helped!

I can't for the life of me get the slide separated from the receiver lol. I push the slide lock all the way down on both sides after I have slide pulled back a bit like my diagram shows yet it won't separate when I push forward. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? Oh yeah, Glock 22 Gen 4.
