I have 4 JL Audio 10w3v2-d2 that i want to power. I have narrowed my search down to two amps. A Kicker KX1200.1 or a Rockford Fosgate P1000.2 SQ-SQL is what I'm looking for. I will build both a ported and sealed enclosure to try out and see which of the two styles i prefer but they probably will end up in a ported enclosure. The Kicker will be running at 1ohm and the RF will be 4ohm... FIRE AWAY!!! Another question i have that you may be able to help me with is... ChevyBoy Posted February 5, 2007 Report Share Posted February 5, 2007 you can say that. either amp is good. i would go with the fosgate though and run them at 4 ohm. the amp wont have as much stress as the kicker due to a higher ohm load, and itll be a little cleaner signal and more efficient. NUB Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Share Posted February 5, 2007 I thought that a higher ohm load would be better for several reasons but my only concern is what i might lose in watts when comparing the two. I want it to sound good but also want my heart to start and stop with the beat! I've owned a RF for over 5 years of trouble free service and should just roll with another based on that but...
