Chris
Id sell EVERYTHING and restart. (and I mean EVERYTHING) then with the money, go get a new headunit with eq built in, 2 12"s, build a nice ported box and decent amp. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR. Chris
Well id atleast take out the 15 though. When you use more than one size sub it really sucks cuz you get a cancellation effect going on from the different cone sizes Id keep the 2 tens just cuz then you would have pretty much 20" of cone area instead of if you kept the 15". Its really hard to make 2 different sizes of sub sound good unless you truly know what ur doing. It takes a lot of work. in fact, having the two kinds in the same car is prolly the main reason the subs are muffled when you close the trunk because now all the sound waves cancel eachother out. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR. AP Zoutes
fyi two tens = 157 sq" and one fifteen = 176 sq" of cone area
Chris
fyi two tens = 157 sq" and one fifteen = 176 sq" of cone area Wow didnt know that but thanks. Still kinda proves the whole cancellation thing. I learn something new on here everyday and thats why Im not here quite a bit. Say a 15" has a larger surround on it thoughwould that equal less cone area? 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR. kickerman
the 15 is for low notes and the tens are for high notes. the 15 can not play the high notes. it has nothing to do with the muffled sound it had to do with the fact that the subs had no room to push the air. 18" mmats juggernaut rf t10001bd alpine h/u
