sphinxbccp Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 ok on my 03 blazer the back window molding (both sides) is turning a greenish color, i dont know if its dry rot or not but i know i want to fix it, its ugly as hell!!! i was wondering if anyone had this problem an how they went about fixing it!! thanks!! rusty959 Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 if its the "molding" as you call it you won't have to replace the windows to get rid of it... try some hardcore cleaners, if that doesn't fix it, replace it (or paint it depending on what exactly it is) you talking about the rubber seal type thing or the plastic surrounding it? RamenNoodles Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 Best way to fix that without replacing it if its not cleanable is to paint it. Tape off each side of the molding. The inside, and outside with painters tape. Then put paper over the windshield and about 20 inches on the outside of the moulding as well. Tape all the newspaper down so it wont move around. Then get a bottle of flat black, or gloss black, your choice and do like 2-3 thing layers on there. Doing multiple thing layers from about 10 inches away will make it not blotch up.
