00_XJ Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 First of all let me give you a rundown. My daily driver is a regular cab ford ranger. Since it's my daily driver and a blow through is out of the question until I become more financially stable I'm playing with 36 inches wide, 12 inches height and about 6 inches deep to still sit comfortably. So with this in consideration I have decided only 3 shallow mount (still undecided on which ones to go with) 10's in a sealed fiberglass box. Now for my question. Is it possible to wire three SVC 2 ohm subs to a mono or two channel amp at 2 ohms? If so how and if not what would your suggestion be? 2000 Jeep Cherokee -DC Audio -Memphis -Audioque -SecondSkin -Pioneer -KnuKonceptz
brsteinbach Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 No im sorry to say you cant. Parallel is .6666... so .5 ohms, and series is 6 ohms so i may suggest a .5 ohm stable amp or a amp that does almost 2 times the rating at 4 ohms and wire it series. sorry kinda confusing but lets say the subs will run at 600 watts at 6 ohms. so look for an amp that does about 900 at 4 ohms. Maybe a hifonics 2608 mono block? hifonics Edit: wrong word / link 2 Infinity Reference 1252w 12s 4.2 cubic foot box tuned to 28hz Sub amp: 1 Profile AP1200 Speaker amp: 1 Sony Xplod XM-504z Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X492 4 and 8 Gauge Knu Big III In 1/0 All in my 90 Accord Diamonds are forever, but 9's end that shit fast....

jamen schawn Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 if your stuck on single voice coil subs then go 4ohm that way you can get that 1.34 load therefore you can get more outta an amp in turn save money on buying the higher wattage ones like said before the 2608d or 1608d by hifonics are both very good amps and are 1ohm stable. WHATS THIS.........POKE HARD????
