Back in the day when car audio was made for the experience installer the RCA impedance was around 50ohms and this was great because there was no noise or any problems. well more and more people started installing their self, bad grounds on the amps would draw ground from the RCA's and eventually fry a few ground traces in the deck. In order to solve this issue all the car audio companies have moved up their impedance on their head units anywhere from 2.5k to as high at 10k so that a bad install wont burn anything in the head unit. This high impedance will cause ripple to ride on the ground wire of the RCA and cause all sorts of problems. This problem is amplified 10x if your amplifier has a differential input, as it relies in exact signals going into it for noise rejection.
