The Performer Posted March 13, 2009 Report Share Posted March 13, 2009 I HOPE theres no friction on the vc of that sub.You gotta remember. All a sub (or speaker) is, is a coil and a magnet. The coil alternates polarities causing the attached cone to generate soundwaves. The more power on the coil, the stronger the waves. The more power on the coil, the more heat generated through effeciency loss (there is NO 100% effecient item on this planet!) Your coils are going to get warm. Just make sure they are seeing clean power. I was thinking the same thing, "what the hell is that dude talking about friction..." Think of your voice coil as a resistor.
