rumproast789
Alright, so I messed up on my port. The port is smaller and longer instead of wider and shorter. I have a BTL, and whenever it plays the lows, I feel like its not hitting them as hard as it should sometimes. I guess I don't know how its supposed to hit in the 30hz - 38 hz region. People say songs like Juice box will hit hard, and it barely hits hard for me it seems like... same goes for other low songs Here is my port as of right now: Could someone tell me the tuning of it? rumproast789
Haha, alright looks like I managed to confuse everyone. Here is a pic of the port in the box: Here is the port that should be 33hz: Here is the port now (the 21" measurement comes from the 22", I had to cut an 1" off to get it to equal the port opening on the back of the box): Quote 2002 ford explorer 200 amp rewound alt single 18" Fi btl fully loaded 2 1750's 2 c&d tech 88amp/hr batts 2 ought wiring cdt component set up front, cdt coaxials in back Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693
duct_tape123
First of all the opening into the box is nowhere near big enough for the port. The rule is that there should be at least 1 port width away from all walls. In your case it should be the height of the port, 5" MINIMUM! creyc
Because the port ends so close to the back wall of the box, it acts like a slot port (instead of a rectangular tube) and increases the length of your port, dropping your tuning frequency. What is your box volume with port displacement subtracted? It is 5" high btw to the other poster, so isn't that right? duct_tape123
It doesn't look like 5" away from the back of the box. Creyc is right. The actual length of your port(using the 2nd of the 2 sketches) is 29.25" long.
