Derek16 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 well i went to the citys audio, rim dealer and they had a sale. it included a Clarion DB185MP, 2 12" street machine subs in a ported box 350 watts rms each sub, Autotek SM4-1000 Street Machine amp, 2 front door speakers not sure which ones, 4 guage wiring. $500 installed. there going to hide the amp in a littlenstorage unit in my durango. hes giving it to me for 500 total because i said i was paying cash. how does this sound? good deal or what. im pretty happy i spotted this Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

raytard Posted March 16, 2009 Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 some places out there, while they may be a car audio shop, and may have been around for a while, dont hire the best installers, because bad ones are cheaper in general, box stores like circuit city, bestbuy, etc hire kids off the street and give them a crash course in installations before they get set loose on your car. some audio specific shops are the same or not much better, almost all are head and shoulders better. their techs being MECP is nice, but doesn't really say much. see if they have a display of work they have done, ask friends and such about the shop...you should be able to find someone through the grapevine that has dealt with them before as long as everything is done right you might as well get it done, there is obviously better stuff out there, and it obviously will cost you more money, but you can always think about that down the line if you want to upgrade. Derek16 Posted March 16, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 ya ok thanx. ya i have a friend who had work done. not audio related but he liked the work so no complaints. yes i no its not the nicest system but its my first and it will sound better then my stock one. plus the front right speaker is blown. there is a lifetime warranty on it but i dont see how that can be because i dont think they cover it if it blows but idk. im getting it done tuesday. when i have my coart date. i might lose my licence because im under 18 and got a speeding ticket. the only thing that will save me is if he lowers it to a none point related ticket.
