wildbeast15 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 kracatoa was only 180.2 and the atmosphere can only hold 192.44 decibles unless someone where to add air pressure to a certain spot and then play around.. i.e someone who can hit 181.7 in florida will only hit 165 in denver.. just because of air pressure.. so him doing 181.7 at any point is amazing simply amazing. he is officially louder than a volcano. if he were to go underwater he could break 200.. hell a whale breaks 180 underwater. and db isnt just about loud a fire horn (one that sounds when there is a fire from a fire station) is only 100db but it is something like 200 thousand pascals thats what determins how far it can travel under normal atmospheric conditions.. pascals NOT dB... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_pressure some more quick reading for people The set up your talking about would sound great in my Tahoe.
