Ben Building
Install it right and you will get by with the Boss, but it don't expect competition sound from it. I think your speakers are going to make at least as big a difference in the overall sound as the amp.
white4d96
they aren't bad. more than enough for what you need. I thought the same thing when I paired my current 350rms/800 peak amp with a 375rms/750 peak sub. But the sub went BLAMMO! so I am nervous about doing it again, especially with 4 speakers instead of one. Quote Too many projects, too little time... randomsuper
run it at 4ohms and ease up on the gain if anything. any amp can blow up your speakers if you aren't careful. it's not like it's way too powerful. it's strong enough. that's it. white4d96
Maybe. Affordability is big though too, cuz I am a high school student and just lost my job. I can't get another one until the end of May because of a play I am in, so I won't have much money to spend, basically what I can get from whatever odd jobs I can find. Guest
I can't put 175w RMS to those speakers though! who said you had to run the amp at 100% output? turn the gain down and its fine. and when you blew the sub, you were probably clipping the amp so the sub overheated. white4d96
Okay, random question. If I were to buy a too-big amp and install it myself, how much do you think it would cost to have a shop tune it, cuz i REALLY don't wanna eff this up again... EDIT: by tune I mean do the settings on the gains and whatnot. Edited March 25, 2009 by ktownsdriftking Quote Too many projects, too little time...
