takenotes101 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Share Posted March 24, 2009 right now i have an 18" dc lvl 4 xl on an audioque 2200d in a 2006 mercury mountaineer my box is about 6.5 cubes after displacement tuned to 33 hz w/ a slot port and 45s in the corners. I put resin on the whole inside. Its sub up and port up, sounds decent. im thinking about doing 6 cubes after displacement tuned to 28 hz w 3 4" diameter (maybe 6" ?) aero ports. Id through some bracing in there and doing resin 45 corners. Id also fiberglass the corners. I would want to do sub up port back on this one. what do u guys think? brewer_brewer Posted March 27, 2009 Report Share Posted March 27, 2009 sounds like a winner to me. how much port area do you have with the current box? figure that out and then find out the what the port area of the aero ports will be after tuning length. i would stay at 33 or 34 hz with tuning. just my opinion.
