I've learned here that their application is rarely necessary and usually only for eeking that last bit of stable current for like a competition rig. I'd say sell the caps and look at this: Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have 2 ohm DVC's then it should present a 1 ohm load (which the amp is stable at) otherwise its 2. davewms9605
Thanks Dub, but id like to add that, i thought (me being a noobie here), caps were made for storing current like when your headlights dim, which her car does like crazy and thats why we bought the caps. So what can I do to correct the problem. Her system consists of a Hifonics Zeus 14408 4 ch amp which runs a set of MB Quart 6 1/2 coms and a pair of MB quart 6x9's, an AudioControl Epicenter, 4 Hifonics Brutus 12's, a Hifonics Brutus 2608D amp and a Pioneer Premier deck which has 4 volts, all 2 ga wiring, and 10 gauge sub and speaker wiring. bobo333
have you upgraded the battery and "big 3" (earths)? doing this usually get rid of most headlight dimming, also upgrading the amps earths to a bigger guage and making sure they have good contact with the body helps a bit, as for the caps, since youve already got them you may as well put them in but im not quite sure how to do that. doing all the other stuff first is a good idea though Quote ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^
slugdub
Yeah, its funny. Just hooking up 4 gauge CCA to my new amp seems to stop all dimming vs the 8 gauge rockford copper I had.
