Docbar Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Hey Guys I need a little Help I have a mercury mountaineer and I need to install a line output converter on my factory radio so I can have a set of rca jacks for my sub amp. I want to keep the speakers running off the factory unit for now and it seems like all line output converters have to use the head unit speaker wires for a signal. What do I do? Is there converters that dont use the speaker wires to get a signal? 1995 Jeep Yj Rubicon Express Lift BFG Tires Warn 9000lbs Winch KC offroad lights 1999 Mercury Mountaineer (need to install) 12in Sub Soundstream Amp 1/0 wire 4 Channle Amp Replace the factory head unit

bumonskateboard6 Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Put the line out put converter in line with your left rear speaker lines. Just solder/crimp the line output converter into the line for the speaker keeping the connection for the speaker as well, then you'll have a working speaker, and RCA outputs for your amp. Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth. A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?

Thanks again man, I just might have to go a head and just replace my factory radio and put in a aftermarket cd player, a 4 channle amp and all that good stuff. haha 1995 Jeep Yj Rubicon Express Lift BFG Tires Warn 9000lbs Winch KC offroad lights 1999 Mercury Mountaineer (need to install) 12in Sub Soundstream Amp 1/0 wire 4 Channle Amp Replace the factory head unit
