Hate to see it go, It peaked at 57 hertz and got freakishly loud for a granny car. I was told the best one to get is a second generation ('88-'91) si. The body style and stiffer panels on the second gen si being one of the reasons. "She who must be obeyed" (wife) Has me on a strict budget of $1000 for my stupid new toy<--- her words lol. I find a lot of the 1st gen for under that leaving money for more wire and batterys and was wondering how much worse would an '86 lets say be than a '91 for building an spl car. thnx Quote

Waiting for a call back. I've found quite a few of the pre '88's for 500-800. Only a few of the second gens for 1000 though. Quote

But since I don't care to much what it looks like I can look at the dented ones and the thrashed interior ones. Quote

When I craigslist for them here I get about 37 in the last two weeks. A lot of them are expensive and some are all tore apart in the middle of a build but there are some good ones in the 1500-2000 range. Edit: My main problem will be just walking up and buying the first one I see. I'm a bad impulse buyer. If I didn't want one and was broke I'd find a ton of low mileage 91's for 100 bucks is the way it usually works. Edited March 31, 2009 by alvitae Quote
