First Box Build

im going to start building a box this weekend my max dimensions are 13"deep x 36"wide x 18" heigh

so can some one help me with the port

and what subs to buy

i was thinking about 2 12" type r's

or AA Chaos

i want sub up port up

1500w RMS to each sub

with those dimensions you will have roughly 2 cu. ft. per sub.

what type of music do you listen to? the reason is for tuning frequency

do you want it to just be loud or sound good or both? same as above

1500 rms a piece is to much for both those subs.

get a dcsoundlab level 4 XL.

you can push 1500 rms all day and more.

the level 4 XL is to expensive for me

so ill probably get 2 type r's with 750w to each sub

the amp I'm thinking of is a jbl 1500.1

i listen to dance and rap music

and i have know idea how to do the port

i want it to sound good and get loud

i picked up my wood today so can some one help me with the port or would it be better to build a sealed box

13 { would be better if you could go 14" for more meat to mount the subs too . If you can go 14 ...type 14 in this place . }

.75 does it for you but just in case , hopefully your using 3/4"MDF ?

The image shows it laying on its side but in your case you would simply turn it on its side so the port is facing up .

About 3.16cuft @ 32.77Hz without the subs . It would be around 3.0 cuft @ 33.xx Hz with the subs .

Nothing fancy but that should get you going with something .
