96saturnsl Posted February 18, 2007 Report Share Posted February 18, 2007 ok im relatively new to the whole car audio thing....in october i purchased my first system its nuttin special only 2 12" eclipse SW4200 subs and they are powered by a mosfet 1600 watt amp(cheap i know) but im thinking about selling the eclipse subs and getting 2 alpine SWR1242d 4 ohm subs and my question is how would i hook them up in my enclosure?...cuz the eclipse subs are single voice coil and the alpines are dual....and theres only 1 pos and 1 neg wire from each of the enclosure terminals that would run to the pos and neg on the subs...so how would i go about hooking the (dvc) subs up?...any advice is apretiated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

96saturnsl Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Share Posted February 18, 2007 yea that helps alot thanks so the first wiring diagram on that site would put a 2 ohm load on the amp right?...cuz thats all my amp can support lol and i have another question...what gauge wire would i use to wire the pos to pos on the sub and neg to neg in the first diagram?
