96 Tacoma Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 the ports on my new boxes sit above the seats and i was wondering if i should put them on the bottom instead because of not having anything for the notes to bounce off of till the windshield 03 Ram 1500 3.7 v6 quad cab H/U: Pioneer 4200UB Subs: 4 DC LVL 4 15s D1 Sub Amp: 2 Crescendo 3kwp strapped Highs Amp: Crossfire xp240.2 Highs: Crossfire 2 rs69, 2 rs52 Alt: DC POWER ALT 270XP Batts: 5 sprinter data safe Big 3 0ga New Truck 03 Ram Build Log 6 DC Audio lvl2 15's My Wrecked 99 Dodge Ram Sport Build Log 02 Ranger X Cab Build 02 Ranger Build 2 http://www.dcsoundlab.com/ My linkhttp://www.crescendoaudio.com http://www.dcpowerinc.com/ http://www.crossfirecaraudio.com/ Youtube Vids
Neo_frog Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Depending on your setup, you should be ok. Is it a wall or just a box? Walls and certain boxes yield higher numbers with the port forward, but if you are looking for a little more clarity and cone control, I'd say turn it the other way. Your lows would be a little better as well. Bass doesn't need a surface to bounce off of to be loud. It all depends on the car. Everybody maxes out with different placements/orientations. Play around with it and see what's the best! EDIT: This goes for putting the port on the bottom too. Try both ways. Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions?
