Audioque A1200d Amp Clipping?

running a audioque hdc3 15 & audioque1200d amp...0 guage kicker wire,,,kinetik1400 batt,,,,,,stock alt,,,,,,,now with audioque amps the bass knob has a clipping red light so i guess if your clipping it flashes red..now anyone that knows about this first is it accurate and how can i crank it up and not clip it,,,,,,,bigger amp,,,,upgrade alt.....thanks for the help

i run the same amp.

i have checked the clip light and it is pretty accurate to what an o-scope was telling me. so...

this is what i do. if you don't know what you're doing DO NOT DO THIS! THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT OR SAFE WAY TO DO THIS

i turn my gain all the way up and then adjust my signal with my bass knob. when i see any red at all i turn it down until the light goes away.

AGAIN I SAY THIS. IF YOU DONT HAVE A CLIPPED SIGNAL LIGHT DO NOT DO THIS.\

i only do this because i have checked mine with an o-scope and i know that when that light comes on it is giving it a dirty signal. check your setup before you do this.

just know that clipping your signal will eventually make your subs so hot they will tear themselves apart.

i didn't really trust it until i used an o-scope and it is almost right on with the clip light.

now i realize how accurate it is (gives a dim light if barely clipped and really bright if it is straight dc signal)

i love audioque amps just because of that light on the bass boost knob. plus they put out rated power.

just be careful with it man.

yea im glad i went with audioque....might be sellin my system and upgrading to the 18 & 2200d

also, how is your pre amp voltage? Maybe a line driver will help you...

Not smart to leave your gains wide open like that. If tha tbass knob goes bass or gets unplugged. Poof, Wide open gains = death to components.

true. like i said if you don't know what you are doing then don't do it.

also i have the bass boost turned all the way down on the amp so even if it does come unplugged the bass boost will be all the way down.
