Help W/ Camaro Box Design

Recommended Posts

Okay guys, I have a 1983 Chevrolet Camaro that i'm trying to design a box for. The most i can seem to get is about 3cuft (before taking in account the mdf, and bracking) and i know there is more possible. And this is without using the storage compartment or spare tire area, as i'd like to use the spare tire are for batts.

I have the measurements, but unless you are familiar with the camaro trunk well you may be easily confused.

If someone is able to give me a few pointers that may have built one before, it would be greatly appreciated.

Setup will be: DC 12" lvl4 XL on about 2500w, it approxmiately a 2.75cuft box tuned to 34-36hz depending on what is possible. The main structure will be mdf but the top baffle most likely will be fiberglass to look sexy haha. I'd like 2-4 ports.

If anyone can help just shoot me a PM or use the thread. I appreciate anything that would be helpful.

Post a picture of the space your working with if you could .

2,500watt rms I would try to build everything out of MDF , not sure how strong a fiberglass top would be ?

fiberglass can be stronger if done right and enough is used.

I just had the bright idea to make a temp box out of fiber glass thath as a cooler with a plexi lid. This way we could tailgate and jam out of the escape all at the same time. You know this way you could put neon lights and light up all the ice beer and such. Maybe you should take this into consideration for your design.

Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape

Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592

All out for a rebuild.

New shit coming in the next 30 days.

If you ever seen a 4th gen F body rear space its similar looking to that .

Heres mine I built a while back for a single 12" ~ 28"Wide , 17.75" High including second baffle , bottom depth of 12" / top depth of 14" . Back is flat , front angles out .
