fourlug Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I was using my kicker 2500.1's at 1 ohm, with 5 blue tops and 3 alts, voltage would only drop down to 12v. I was blowing 350a fuses lol, so efficiency was shit. The problem was my little d16 (civic engine) couldn't turn the alts when I was pulling alot of power. It was a huge pain in the ass because the engine would bog down so much. I'm going to be running them at 2 ohm now.. Just looking for some input on how many batteries/alts I need to have a strong, reliable electrical with these amps @ 2 ohm? I still have all 5 blue tops, but I'd rather not use them all. I figured 2 or 3 would suffice. I'd only like to run 1 HO alt, which will probably be 160a. What do you think?
Guest KyleCannon Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Get your ALT from Robbie at DC Power. Get either some XS Power Cells or Kinetik and call it a day. Robbie will know what to do in your situation with your engine problem
