Noob To The Process Of System Building

I have 99 chevy tahoe and i want to do a nice complete system from ground up. My problem is I dont know where to start as far as what components i want to use. I have a few systems in the past but nothing I ever really put any thought into. I value everyones input and experience in this matter. I do have a system in right now which is two diamond d3s on a autotek 1400d, 5 farad cap, cdt 6.5 components, and jl 400watt 4ch. two optima batteries and ready to install the big three although Im not quite sure what wire to go with. With this new system I would like to use daily but if I felt the urge be able to enter a bass off or two. Im working with limited budget of 2000 so i want the best bang for my buck.[/size]

2 DC lvl 4 12's in a 4 cu.ft. box powered off of a RF T20001bd would be a nice setup for your substage

there are literally thousands of ways you could go, and feel free to take out suggestions or look through the build logs and get ideas

and dont forget to sell your old shit to increase the system budget

the dc and beefy fosgate amp would be a good thing to consider though, havnt heard anything bad about either, and depending on how much room you're willing to lose you can even do 15's or 18's, you can EASILY fit a 16 cube box back there with room to spare, at the window line, if you lose the 3rd row.

or you can find Rusty here on the forum and PM him about some pricing, they're very reasonable and can be built to order if you want something custom (like a dustcap that matches your paint, or higher power handling)

a lot of companies can be found in the manufacturer section of the forum, or use google.
