just go to crutchfield and search for it that way. itll give you all the different options to choose from. w/ or w/o bose, onstar all that shit.

but what you don't understand is the harness is wrong for the late model 2000 tahoe. The facotry amp turn on lead is on the secondary harness. I ordered mine from crutchfield still needed to do the splice.

I just went through this today. If you look at the back of the stcok H/U there are two harnesses. One main one and one second one that is smaller. On the second one will be a pink wire. You need to splice the pink wire to the remote turn-on off your new H/U. This wire turns on the factory amp.

Thanks man that's what I've been wondering. Do you know if the stock radio controls airbags, other functions? I'll go do that splice right now if it doesn't affect any thing safety-wise.

Thanks a lot AP zoutes. I've been trying to avoid spending that extra 100 bucks that i DONT have, so this helps a lot. I'm gonna go hook my h/u now haha.

What are all the other wires for on the smaller harness then?

Thats for the larger harness, I'm confused about the second smaller one.

I don't know. I did mine on saturday and no change to anything. I think it's the amp turn-on off course and possibly something to do with the tape player. I've had no trouble lights come on and everything else is normal.

Hmm I'm just a little concerned about the airbags thing. But I think all those wires are for the door chimes coming off each door/trunk, the ignition, and lights. So I'm going to go ahead and do the splice. Saved myself 100 bucks too. Your door chimes shouldn't work now right? That's fine with me those damn things are annoying shit.
