fritosaregood
You could go all out and learn how to fiberglass and make new door panels. if you dont wanna do that thought the best way it to get rid of the plastic housing, and make a adapter out of 1/2" mdf. Ive even gone as small as 1/4" mdf to get some 6x9s in a 5.25 spot.(with some metal cutting) Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
white4d96
FINALLY SOME PICS Below is the factory 5.25" housing And another spot I MIGHT be able to put speakers in... The Quarts are not as screwed as I thought, I put some foam tape between the basket and the housings seen above and it sounds a little better...still looking to upgrade to 6.5's eventually though. EDIT: that perforated part of the plastic fits a 5.25" speaker PERFECTLY, and it looks like there's plenty of room around it. If i do my whole door, ill probably do 2 part foam. Ive used it a bit before, shit is kinda cool. I see alot of people that do door panels or just pods, but it never shows how its attached to the door if its the whole panel or how the pod is attached to the panel. I wanna put 2 sets of 7" daytons and some tweeters in my front doors. Already kinda know where the tweets are going seeing as i already got type s comps up front and cut a hole and flush mounted my tweeters in the door panels.
