They usually give it to the best player who has their team with the best record in the nba . cavs 66-16 lakers 65-17 lebron should take it if he did not lose both meetings to kobe and the lakers .Stats dont really mean as much as the record !! couple of years ago kobe had a horrible team and went no-where but his stats where unbeleiveable # 1 in scoring in the entire leage named all team defense had a 4 or 5 consectutive 50 or 60 pt. games and he did n ot win MVP because of the lakers record

Wade, Howard, and Paul shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as Kobe and Lebron
