nobody have any advice on the feature in question ? it is deffinatly an odd item it acts as a remote level control. I just dont know if it is good for the system or not, Also working with smokeumtires

to come up with a insane enclosure for thease things thats going to blow your mind ! so pre-credit given to him for sure thanks alot man, very kind and open to helping me with this project, So all the enclosure props go to him for sure. I cant wait to see what he finally comes up with in the end, and then get to put it into action :) We will be facing the woofers towards the rear seats, using up the hole trunk as the box and using the arm-rest as the port, hollowing it out and having all the SPL fire through the port directly into the cabin.

with 2 18'' this is going to be nuts loud in a car. And then when i get my 2 BTL's to replace thease SX's and push 2600 RMS to each look out this thing is going to be a monster. Cant wait to see the sketches and see what needs to be done and get to it !

hey guys its a nice warm day out ! (inspired by the thread lets get fuckin phabricatin! lol) i feel like today would be a good day to fix our RCA cables in our install.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8DBqdsYyBY

As you can see in this video they are run along with our power & remote wires.

also as you can see somebody has commented stating :

"That is seriously not good. It will create alot of "whining noise" in your system and will not give you the proper signal out from your RCA's. it is just not something you should do. They apparently know nothing about installing car audio.

This is why I do it myself. and have over 10 years of work that I have done. Check out some of my vids. "

So, with this been made very apparent i am going to go ahead and fix what future shop screwed up, i am glad i made video of it so i can now go ahead and fix it. I will report back to you guys and post video etc, hopefully this also clears up some of the signal interuption problems my amplifier seems to be getting.

CHOW !

Alright guys, we are now upgrading alternator through DC power, i am going to be ordering within 2 weeks once we get our next cheque.

In the end i plan on running a hifonics sampson XXV 8000 RMS amplifier, so i am going to need some serious alternating power. When i asked the gentlemen at DC power they said anything over 290 wouldnt work because it would over-load the onboard computer, how is this possible when some cars have like 5 alts, with 1,000 amps of cranking power driveable.

If you guys could help me out with this information so we can move on and get the new alternator/MLA module setup before we go ahead and design the new enclsure.

Big props to smokey thanks man for helping me design it !

for all my videos and updates of this build-log make sure to subscribe to my channel :

please get back to me ASAP about the alternator issue guys ! right now we are only running 2600 rms, so a 290 amp alt would be fine, but when we upgrade soon we will need more cranking power so i need to get this soarted.

Hope to hear back from a DC power guy !

can take pics of the car where the alt is if needed,

anybody's help would be greatly appreciated we really need to have this figured out so that this vehicle can remain drive-able but push it to the absolute limit.

So if there is a way to get the computer to accept more amperage that would be awsome. It would seem like that since other vehicles have like 800-1k amps of alternator power.

please let me know crew! thanks guys,

-andrew

P.S anybody know why FI arnt answering emails hardly are they doing ok buisness wise ? just curious since i will be getting a pair of them after this alternator.

Then the amplifier upgrade comes, i would get the SMD Design woofers that can handle more RMS if they come out in time hehe :)

let me know guys please !

(wont let me insert pictures for some reason) says "sorry, dynamic pages in the img tags are not allowed"

There's no better realizations than the ones that affirm making previous mistakes.

Why?

Cause everything starts to sound better! Like gain, new headunits improving everything, wiring in the car... That's tight to see your new HU is making the subs perform better! I had the same thing in my 300m, all the sudden I was getting more performance =P. Can't wait to see the newest videos, its one of the most exciting things to upgrade!!

stage one of making the armrest into a port, thought gettin thru it would be alot harder. Good for crystler owners who are considering doing it.

what are RE audio MT's like?

been considering 2 as i can get a great price on them since re is so awsome like that, They will be able to each handle a crunch gp3000d pro.

6k rms at 12v, mla will boost rms up alot. look up soe tests on that model of amp, it is sick.

RE MT opinions needed, and my alternator questions for dc power up b4 this.

peace guys!

Ok guys ! update time, damn we are starting to get confident and learn alot just by taking out and repairing the mistakes future shop made. Enough determination, and will to learn and even we can do it lol, i feel i have learned quite a bit in the past few months since the incident, and now i will never let anybody else touch my car. I learned a valuable but costly lesson, lets just hope the case goes through and i get my 20,000 for professional neglagence up to the extend of the possibility of death occuring. The lawyers are saying i have a very solid case, not even really built off the enclosure, or the drill being dropped onto the subwoofers, as soon as i explained the grounding issue to them they where like yes, go ahead with it you have a very strong case. And thease lawyers where free so i know for a fact shes not just trying to get a cut, it is still a civil claims case. She personally thinks the judge will tell them strait up before any trial that it is going to look incredibly bad for them, and that it would be in their best interest to settle out. I Am going to use w/e money i make from that to start up my own custom install shop, small time out of home for friends and mainly formyself.

** NEW VIDEO OF THE REMOVAL OF OUR GEAR **

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvQTo7c3ciI

we have removed all ourgear fromthe trunk exept the fibreglass skin on the bottom, and the battery in the trunk. By the end of next week, ill have 1 out of 2 crunch gp3000d Pro's i ampurchasing, at thatpoint we will be building a new enclosure for the RE audio SX woofers as they are temporary.

Ironicly enough, DC audio is affiliated with maxxsonics, and myself being a member of team maxxsonics instantly qualified me for discounts, and rusty has been great with customer service, we are making some VERY Sick dust-caps for thease you are all going to want to see.

Anyways, we will be bracing the enclosure enough so it can hold 2 level 5 18''s, and the SPL they will be putting out. When we recive our first level 5, we will take the SX's out, and make a new top baffle with just one hole, and run 1 crunch gp3000d pro, to the single level 5 18''

At that point, we will be getting the 2nd subwoofer, and the 2nd amplifier and then buying our alternator, or alternator setup. We are going to need lots of amperage for this beast.

Then i will get the 2 remaining kinetik powercell's and install all the new gear. Porting for 1 Level 5 18'' 165 square inches is perfect, and that is how much 2 RE audio SX's take.

So, we will be porting this one to around 33hz maybe 29hz and using a 165 square inch port, so when that first level5 comes, all we have to do is just createa new baffle with 1 hole instead of 2.

once we recive the 2nd amp and 2nd sub, we will simply extend the port to 210 square inches, for the 2 level 5's. We will also be purchasing an MLA module to take advantage of the ability of the Crunch's to turn out more power when ran at higher voltage.

So this setup now has a direction, i now have some sponsorship and this will be my first serious sponsorship install, and my first complex enclosure.

Please stay tunned guys and keep this post thriving with your discussions. I cant wait to show you guys the dust-cap design we had done on our level 5's.
