Braden062005
I'm building a box (my second one) the first one i build i'm ashamed about so im not going to talk about it. Anyhow, i am building a new box for 2 RF P215's i looked at the manual to get a understanding of what i would want, but they only show 1 sub boxed, which i need 2... i want to just double it, then section it off in the middle, do you think that would work good or should i go with no section? I'm also porting the box with two 4x9.4 inch port, should i just go with PVC? And lastly, would home depot cut it to make it very exact? SPLGEO
It would be louder in the same chamber, regular PVC pipe isn't that great, look into areo or pression ports, a sllot port would be easyer, I can draw you up a design, PM me if you insteraded Quote 1995 Geo Prism . Braden062005
Thanks for the site. I got all of my wood cut, finally decided on a design that will take up essentially my whole trunk, should be nice and sound great, i'm using 3/4 MDF and i bought carpet to put around it. I have a question, what kind of resin can be used to put in the box, also what else can i do to make the box better? The dimensions are 12" H, 35" L, 28" W then i figured i should run a 4x9.4 port. sean 371
Fiberglass resin. Brace the box unless your designs has bracing already included in it (ie the port is in the center). You can do a double baffle if you want. You could put 45 all the angles on the inside of the box. It's up to you how in depth you want to go. With P2's, you should be okay with just a standard box. Use good wood glue and brad nails if you can. Braden062005
what would be the advantages to keeping the box sealed? any? do you think i have enough to run ports? 1 or 2? sean 371
By standard I meant without bracing/double baffle. By all means port it. The only advantage to sealed is it supposedly gives a "punchier" feeling. Ported boxes are the way to go if you have the space, IMO. Either one or two ports would work.
