Mixing 2 Sets Of Speakers In The Front?

Hey guys,

I currently have Focal 130KPs in the front and I want to get the 165KRX3s

I want to also make door pods (facing up at the driver and passenger from the bottom)

I have a couple of options

130KP positioning options:

Option A

5.25 midrange/bass moved from inside door to new door pod in doors

Move the tweeter from the mirror pods (the little plastic part that hides the nuts and bolts to the mirror assembly) to the door pods (next to the 5.25)

Option B

Leave Tweeter for 130KP as is and move the midrange/bass to the door pod only.

165KRX3 Positioning

Option A:

If using option A from above, move the tweeter to the previous location of the last one

Put 3" midrange in a pillars

put 6" midbass in the door panel below as well. (these would be separated off so they dont compete with one another from the inside)

Option B:

If using option B from above, put down midbass to door pods like you would in option A

Put the midrange and tweeters in the a pillars

I want this to sound the BEST it can sound. So if anyone can tell me what they think on this or come up with a better plan that would be great :)

Thanks!

If you're using both sets of tweeters you want them as close together as possible unless you want to feed them very different signals and use one set as 'ambience' tweets in which case you'll probably want one set to be very off axis... maybe on the dash firing at the windscreen.

Alright so probably leave the tweeter in the mirror pod then put the midrange and tweeter on the a pillars? What about the 5.25 woofer and the 6" midbass?

I mean you probably want the tweets side-by-side.

If I were you I'd put both tweets and the midrange up in the pillar and the 5.25 and 6" low down in the door.

Alternatively you could have the mid and one tweet in the A-pillar, the 6's in the doors and the 5" with the other tweet in the kicks. Just be careful with how loud the kick tweeter is or it'll pull the soundstage down.
